Stepdown / Med-Surg RN Travel Contract

Weekly Hours:
• 36 hrs/week (3x12s)

Shift:
• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Unit Details:
• 32-bed Unit
• 12 Stepdown Beds
• 20 Med-Surg Beds

Ratios:
• Stepdown: 1:3
• Med-Surg: 1:4–1:6

Required Certifications:
• BLS

Patient Population:
• Chest Pain
• COPD
• Altered Mental Status (AMS)
• Pneumonia
• UTI
• Abdominal Pain
• Hospice/GIP Patients
• General Medical-Surgical Overflow

Required Skills:
• Stepdown and Med-Surg experience preferred
• Telemetry monitoring
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips

Drip Experience:
• Stepdown patients may receive higher-acuity drips
• Floor patients commonly receive Heparin and PCA infusions

Unit Support:
• Free Charge Nurse
• House Supervisor available 24/7
• Telemetry Monitor Techs available
• CNA support when fully staffed

Schedule:
• 2 weekends per schedule
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff

Floating:
• Required to float to any Med-Surg or Stepdown unit as needed

Dress Code:
• Royal Blue Scrubs
