Job Summary
The Facility Supervisor is responsible for supporting the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a highly regulated thermal treatment facility. This position works closely with management, Regulatory Compliance, HSE, and site personnel to ensure compliance with applicable environmental, safety, operational, and regulatory requirements.
Job Description
- Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting facility operations.
- Coordinate the gathering and submission of regulatory licenses, permits, and related documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date regulatory compliance records.
- Support preparation and submission of reports to management and regulatory agencies within required timelines.
- Coordinate procedural updates based on changes to applicable laws and regulations.
- Report regulatory compliance incidents to management and through applicable internal reporting systems.
- Participate in internal and external regulatory audits and inspections.
- Track, document, and ensure timely closure of corrective and remedial actions.
- Advise management regarding required corrective actions and compliance improvements.
- Assist with developing and delivering employee awareness training related to regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a liaison with local contractors, agencies, and other stakeholders regarding environmental programs.
- Assess environmental risks at the facility and develop appropriate risk controls.
- Work with Management and HSE to recommend updates to environmental procedures, work instructions, and checklists.
- Monitor implementation of environmental components of the HSE Management System at the facility level and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental policies, standards, procedures, and regulations.
- Plan and assist with compliance audits and environmental self-audits.
- Coordinate environmental training for employees and contractors.
- Stay informed of new environmental documentation, requirements, and training materials and communicate relevant updates to management.
- Ensure required environmental documentation is current, organized, and readily available on site.
- Advise management regarding compliance of local environmental programs with company, local, state, and federal requirements.
- Support investigations of environmental incidents.
- Promote environmental awareness through communication, training, and employee involvement.
- Implement operational best practices to maintain a safe, consistent, professional, and efficient facility.
- Supervise local staff and optimize processes to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure employees meet company standards as well as local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Support business continuity through effective facility management and compliance practices.
- Implement quality-control programs utilizing LEAN methodology to standardize and improve facility performance.
- Support facility sustainment, maintenance, and administrative activities.
- Work hands-on with site personnel as needed to support daily operations.
- Operate or assist with site equipment, including forklifts and small pickup trucks, as required.
- Ensure all explosives possessed at the facility are authorized under applicable licenses.
- Verify that individuals using explosives are properly authorized and trained.
- Ensure required explosive inventories are completed and maintained accurately.
- Ensure explosives are stored in facilities appropriate for the type of material.
- Ensure explosives are transported in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Complete facility self-assessments at least twice annually.
- Maintain required explosive safety records and documentation.
- Implement applicable components of the company's Explosives Safety Program.
- Provide emergency and technical assistance related to explosive safety as needed.
Skills Required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in environmental waste management.
- Knowledge of environmental waste management practices.
- Knowledge or experience related to explosives and explosive safety.
- Experience with process evaluation and improvement.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated environment.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively supervising and collaborating with others.
- Flexible and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to perform both administrative/office responsibilities and hands-on operational work.
Physical Demands
- Familiarity with EPA regulations and requirements.
- Familiarity with TCEQ requirements.
- Familiarity with ATF regulations and explosive safety requirements.
- Experience with environmental waste management.
- Experience or knowledge of TSDF (Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility) operations.
- Experience supervising employees or contractors.
- Knowledge of LEAN methodology, process improvement, or quality-control programs.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent;

- Shift: M on-Thu 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay rate
- $28 - $33 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
