Responsibilities Provide direction to product development and the overall process of the product and services function, building products from existing ideas and developing new ideas based on industry experience and customer contact. Increase profitability of existing products and services and develop new solutions that advance business objectives and client needs. Build strong working relationships with marketing, sales, support staff, product development, vendors, senior management and key customers. Manage the process from product development to product launch, ensuring execution aligns with the project plan for complex product initiatives. If the product has a distinct P&L, manage the product’s P&L to ensure profitability for product initiatives. Own, manage, and communicate product roadmaps for assigned products, collaborate with industry analysts for competitive analysis, and coordinate with delivery, sales and relationship management teams on prioritization, costs and market positioning. Develop go-to-market packaging and collaborate with product marketing to craft marketing strategies based on objectives, costs and value proposition. Review research with product marketing to quantify value proposition for inputs to pricing analysis and marketing collateral. Define pricing strategies for new and existing products considering competitive pricing models, internal costs, value proposition metrics and market acceptance. Participate in defining alternative models with benefits and present final pricing recommendations to executive management. Develop comprehensive business cases to support decision-making, prioritization, pricing and client value proposition. Collaborate with business leaders, sales, IT, legal, strategic marketing and relationship management teams to define product goals, objectives, market positioning, and pricing for assigned products. Use independent judgment to determine methods and procedures for managing product strategy and follow a structured process for market research including industry publications, analyst research and client surveys. Facilitate product concept and requirements workshops with clients and internal teams, document workshop results for diverse audiences, and follow up on action items. Collaborate with product delivery and technology architecture to validate detailed design and ensure alignment with market needs and business unit strategy. Provide design direction, testing support and general assistance to the delivery team during the execution phase of product development for complex projects. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications — Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in business or computer science; typically 8 years of relevant experience in similar business product services or external customer/market experience. Relevant degree or combination of training/experience as a substitute for degree acceptable. Preferred Qualifications — Experience in a software development environment or professional services role; software or IT background (degree or experience); direct experience with software development, testing and/or business analysis; experience with Agile software products and delivery methodology. Skills and Capabilities Broad expertise or unique knowledge; ability to contribute to development of company objectives and lead complex projects. Ownership of a function, account or matrix management responsibilities; capable of leading matrix teams on complex projects. Ability to navigate significant and unique issues; exercises independent judgment in methods and evaluation criteria. Works independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments and builds formal networks across internal and external groups.
