Medical Assistant

About the Role:

The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by performing both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient care. This position primarily focuses on assisting with allergy testing procedures, preparing patients for examinations, and accurately documenting medical histories and test results. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
• Basic knowledge of allergy testing procedures and medical terminology.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an allergy or immunology clinical setting.
• Advanced certification in allergy testing or related clinical procedures.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patient populations.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for allergy testing by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Perform allergy testing under the supervision of healthcare providers, including skin prick tests and intradermal tests, while accurately recording patient responses.
• Collect and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant health information to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Manage clinical supplies and equipment, ensuring all materials are sterilized and readily available for testing and examinations.
• Coordinate patient appointments, maintain medical records, and assist with billing and insurance documentation as needed.
