Radiology - Ultrasound / Sonographer

Ultrasound Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position.

4 ten-hour shifts, Monday and Tuesday 12 PM - 10:30 PM, Thursday and Friday 7 AM - 5:30 PM, rotating on call.

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for producing two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs using ultrasound equipment. This role supports physicians in diagnosing diseases and studying organ dysfunction.

Responsibilities:

• Select and set up ultrasound equipment according to examination specifications.
• Explain the ultrasonic examination process to patients and assist them in positioning.
• Adjust equipment controls and transducers based on the area to be examined.
• Key test data and patient information into the computer to maintain accurate records.
• Operate equipment to produce images and record diagnostic data on a computer system or film.
• Review physician orders for accuracy before commencing examinations.
• Ensure all ultrasound images meet pre-determined quality and measurement criteria.
• Document patient information and coordinate daily schedules effectively.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, ensuring accessibility to assistive devices and safety from hazards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, especially the elderly, regarding instructions and care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Graduation from an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or Radiology Technology.
• Previous experience in ultrasound procedures is preferred.
• American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) registration in Ultrasound Technology is required.
• AHA BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
