Annie Malone Children and Family Services has an exciting opportunity for a Male Teen Empowerment Advisor and offering COMPETITIVE PAY!Rate of Pay: $20/hrAvailable Schedules:  Monday - Thursday 3pm-11pm (evening)Sunday - Thursday 11pm - 7am (overnight) About Us:The Economic Mobility Program's main goal is to provide a path of economic mobility, strengthening mental health, and overall family stability for young males (age 16-21) living in the St. Louis area who have either been in the juvenile system or are at high risk to incarceration due to these persistent social and economic injustices. We connect young people to the opportunities, relationships, and resources they need to combat the school to prison pipeline. Offering a hands-on vocational program, participants will be able to earn career skill certificates (i.e. forklift, shipping & receiving, job etiquette, etc.) giving them an understanding of the skills and knowledge required to prepare the youth to meet the qualifications for higher paying jobs. We house the youth Sunday-Friday to ensure their ability to focus on school, work and strengthening their mental health.Why You Want to Work Here: Fun and engaging environmentHanging out with teens all daySmall case loadsEmployee mental health and appreciation Making a difference in the community Amazing leadership and mentorshipDuties & Responsibilities:Supervise clients at all times to ensure basic needs are being metAssist clients through completion of daily responsibilities, activities and living skillsModel positive behavior and effective problem solving techniquesResponsible for keeping the environment safe, clean and orderlyFollow individualized treatment plans to support and improve treatment outcomesUtilize case management software to complete incident reports, case notes, and other essential documentation related to clientsEnsure that all documentation is complete prior shift-end to include after-hours intake and discharge procedures for clientsAttend all staff meetings to develop strategies that correct problem areas designed to meet the needs of individual clientsMaintains client files according to standards and as required by policy and proceduresMaintains confidentiality and HIPAA standards for all assigned clients and familiesCompletes all required training, including any training hours required by professional licensure boardWhen needed, transport children to/from placements, appointments, activities and/or visits in Annie Malone vansAll other duties as assignedQualifications & Requirements:Must be at least 21 years of ageHS diploma or GED requiredMust possess a Valid Driver's License requiredMust have current automobile insurance for transporting youthMust have a Class E Driver's LicenseBachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, criminal justice, or related field preferredTwo (2) years of any combination of training and experience in dealing with disturbed, disabled or behavior disorder related youthBasic computer competency to complete electronic documentationAbility and willingness to work weekdays and weekends requiredMust be authorized to work in the United StatesCompetency-Based Qualification:Ability to evaluate and work effectively with youth with emotional and behavioral problems.Have patience and understanding with children; develop a sensitivity to the emotional needs of children. Ability to understand and implement a treatment/behavioral plan for disturbed, disabled or behavior disorder related youth.No phone calls please.
