This role involves providing specialized patient care in a high-acuity environment, with a focus on trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, and respiratory distress. The ICU team manages a 33-bed unit with an average daily census of 16, requiring skilled RNs to monitor and support critically ill patients. Job Details: Position Description: ICU RN at a 33-bed acute care unit with an average census of 16; responsible for managing trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and other critical conditions. Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale). Education and Experience: Registered Nurse license required, minimum of 2 years of ICU experience needed. Location Requirements: Candidates must meet the radius rule of 50 miles, with verification via driver's license; travel outside the radius may not be accepted. Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Shifts run from 0630-1830 or 1830-0630; self-scheduling is permitted for core staff, travelers included. Additional Responsibilities: RNs will be required to titrate cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, and troubleshoot ventilators, nasal cannulas, and other respiratory equipment. Monitoring and interpreting GE monitors are also part of the role. Staffing and Orientation: One shift of unit-specific orientation; RTO requests must be submitted upfront for seven days or less. Other Details: Every other weekend work; minimum of 2 holidays during the contract. Submission Requirements: Active RN license; candidates must pass a pass/fail skills exam with a 90% score during orientation.
