Floating Nurse - Full time nurse will travel to the five schools within the district throughout the week to assist the School Nurse with their duties and cover schools independently as needed. Hanover Community School Corporation includes one high school, one middle school, and three elementary schools.

Starting August 2026

Qualifications:

RN licensed in the state of Indiana. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Demonstrate adequate verbal and written language skills and serve as a role model for adults and students. Operational knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets. Additionally, the school nurse must have good, moral character and ethical code, and sufficient physical and mental abilities to perform duties. Can take direction and has organizational skills. Is self-directed and loves children and young adults.

Job Duties:

The school nurse provides daily medical care of a routine nature and those under the direction of a licensed doctor. This position will float among the schools on an established rotational schedule and cover schools independently as needed. Assist with hearing, vision, and other health screenings as needed. Provides health education, medication management, emotional support and referral to higher levels of care based on student needs. The school nurse will dispense medications as per board policy and make referrals for vaccinations. Serve as a representative on case conference committee or Section 504 meetings to determine a plan for those students requiring medical attention.
