Bridge Design Engineer

Evans-Graves Engineers, Inc., a locally owned firm, is currently seeking a highly talented, detail oriented, Bridge Design Engineer with 5 – 10 years of experience to join the transportation department in our Baton Rouge, LA office. The successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects for mostly public clients. The candidate should have experience in the following:

• Working in a team environment on multiple projects
• Public meetings process and presentations and professional client interactions
• Preparing preliminary and final quantity take-offs and cost estimates
• Private and Public Bid/Award activities
• Construction Phase activities including contract preparation, RFI reviews, submittal reviews, and conflict resolution
• Project Closeout activities

Position Requirements

• Licensed PE in Louisiana with 5 – 10 years of bridge design experience
• Familiarity with Louisiana DOTD design and detailing procedures
• Experience using Bentley Bridge Design software
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications

Other Desirable Skills

• Experience with Microstation drafting software
• Bridge Rating experience using AASHTOware Bridge Rating software and knowledge of Louisiana DOTD Rating requirements

Position Background

• Position reports to Chief Transportation Engineer
• Ability to travel locally and attend evening meetings, as necessary
