Accountant

Location: Independence, OH (hybrid, 3 in office 2 work from home)

$70-90k plus discretionary bonus and strong benefits

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of our law firm. The ideal candidate will have solid accounting experience, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

We are looking for someone with hands-on accounting experience who understands financial oversight, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger accounting. Experience working in a law firm or professional-services environment is highly preferred. Quickbooks proficiency is required. 

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions for the firm
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records
• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable, including reviewing and processing vendor invoices
• Manage accounts receivable and payable
• Prepare and process client invoices and assist with billing as needed
• Monitor incoming payments and accurately apply receipts
• Maintain the firm's general ledger and chart of accounts
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
• Prepare financial reports and summaries for firm management
• Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and financial analysis

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in accounting and finance
• Legal or professional services background preferred but not required
