Summary

The Engineer II / Engineer III | System and Program Support role supports the reliability, health, and lifecycle management of electrical systems and equipment throughout the generation fleet. This position supports a broad range of power generation electrical assets, including generators, transformers, switchgear, protective relaying, breakers, motors, batteries and DC systems, and other critical plant electrical equipment and systems. This role combines hands-on technical problem solving, equipment condition monitoring, preventive maintenance and asset management programs, engineering evaluations, and project support. You will work closely with plant personnel, engineers, and project teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, evaluate system performance, and develop practical engineering solutions that support safe and reliable plant operations. The position offers broad exposure to generation facilities, electrical systems, capital projects, and operational challenges and is a strong opportunity for an engineer looking to expand their technical capabilities, develop deeper power generation experience, and contribute to the reliability of the generation fleet.

You are responsible for:

  • Support asset condition assessment programs for electrical systems and critical generation equipment to evaluate equipment health, identify degradation trends, and support risk-informed maintenance and investment decisions.
  • Develop and support condition monitoring, inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, and asset management strategies that improve equipment reliability, availability, and lifecycle performance.
  • Provide engineering support for the evaluation, troubleshooting, and resolution of electrical system issues, equipment failures, and emergent plant reliability challenges.
  • Analyze equipment health data, diagnostic test results, inspection findings, failure history, and performance trends to identify reliability concerns and develop corrective actions, refurbishment strategies, or equipment replacement recommendations.
  • Work directly with plant personnel to troubleshoot electrical equipment and system problems, evaluate potential solutions, and support implementation of corrective actions.
  • Review engineering service provider design packages and provide technical input and recommendations to improve reliability, maintainability, safety, and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel, engineers, and project stakeholders to define project objectives, develop scopes of work, evaluate alternatives, and implement practical engineering solutions.
  • Prepare engineering analyses, technical evaluations, specifications, studies, investigations, and cost estimates to support plant operations, maintenance activities, and capital projects.
  • Support capital projects and engineering initiatives involving equipment replacements, electrical system upgrades, and long-term asset improvement strategies.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders on project execution, technical reviews, equipment evaluations, feasibility studies, and engineering recommendations.
  • Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and project updates to plant personnel, engineering teams, leadership, and business partners.
  • Research emerging technologies, equipment applications, industry best practices, and reliability improvement opportunities and provide recommendations for potential application across the generation fleet.
  • Participate in industry organizations and work with external technical partners as appropriate to develop technical knowledge and identify applicable practices and technologies.
  • Ensure engineering work complies with applicable standards, codes, operating requirements, and regulatory obligations.
