Police Officer

Police Officer Pay: $42,962 - $46,946 (Depending on Qualifications) The position performs a wide variety of services directly and indirectly related to enforcing law, maintaining peace and dignity of the community, and assisting the public. Responsibilities include patrolling the town during an assigned shift in a police car or on foot; preventing, detecting, and investigating disturbances and crimes; performing traffic control work; apprehending suspects; and executing related assignments. An officer within their authority shall enforce the laws of the State of North Carolina and the ordinances of the Town. Requirements High school diploma or GED (a 2‑ or 4‑year degree is preferred). Successfully completed North Carolina's Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET). Completed requirements established by the NC Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission for certified law enforcement officers. Possession of a BLET certificate.
