Position Details

• Location: York, PA
• School District: Central York School District
• Pay: $20.00 per hour
• Position Type: Contract
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM
• Contract Dates: August 16, 2026 through June 2, 2027
• Hours: 35 hours per week
• Multiple openings available

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized or small-group support to students throughout the school day.
• Assist students with academic, behavioral, and daily living needs as directed by school staff.
• Implement behavior support plans and positive reinforcement strategies.
• Support classroom instruction under the direction of teachers and special education staff.
• Monitor student safety and well-being.
• Maintain accurate, confidential student documentation.
• Assist students with the appropriate use of classroom materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college credits , an Associate's degree , or higher.
• Must meet Pennsylvania competency requirements (Special Education Credential of Competency or CAPE assessment).
• Current Pennsylvania Criminal History, Child Abuse, and FBI clearances.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification (if required by assignment).
• Willingness to complete 20 hours of annual professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with autism, behavioral needs, or other special education populations.
• Experience working in school or classroom settings.
• Strong communication, patience, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
