Summary This position is located in one of the two Public Health Service hospitals in the Bemidji Area, Indian Health Services, and the bed capacity of which is 17. Inpatient services provided include medical, surgical, newborn, and pediatric. Emergencies are treated on a 24-hour basis and there are regularly scheduled clinics in the Outpatient Department, whose patient load averages 3600 visits monthly. Responsibilities Prepares a Clinical Educational Plan that incorporates the educational needs of clinical employees that relates to the provision of safe and therapeutic health care. Initiates, participates or assists staff in healthcare studies designed to improve patient care Modifies, revises and/or designs new education offerings and curricula to improve the educational plan and meet training needs more effectively. Basic Requirements Education A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. Basic Requirements for the GS-11 (or equivalent) Grade Level In addition to the above requirements, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field; or At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program.
