Job Requirements

• Active Physician Assistant license and Advanced Practice PA certification
• At least 1 year of experience in advanced practice, surgical care, cardiology, or a related acute care setting
• Experience with cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, ICU, or post-operative surgical patients preferred
• Operating room experience, including vein harvesting, strongly preferred
• Ability to round in the ICU and manage pre- and post-cardiac surgery patients
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Comfort caring for patients coming off ventilators and open-heart, VATS, and lung cases

Responsibilities

• Provide daytime coverage for a busy cardiothoracic surgery service
• Round in the ICU and assist with pre- and post-cardiac surgery care
• Manage patients transitioning off ventilators
• Support care for open-heart, VATS, thoracic surgery, and lung surgery patients
• Collaborate with the surgical team, critical care team, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
• Deliver efficient, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care setting
