Trident Consulting is seeking a " Smart Grid Electrical Engineer” for one of our client in " Westminster, CA (Onsite) A global leader in business and technology services.

Title: Smart Grid Electrical Engineer

Location: Westminster, CA 92683 (Onsite)

Type: Contract

Duration: 12+ Months

Pay Rate: $60/hr – $70/hr on W2

Key Responsibilities

• Support validation, testing, and deployment of AMI 2.0 metering solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and metering vendors to ensure technical feasibility, interoperability, and quality.
• Validate AMI 2.0 hardware, functionality, and system performance.
• Conduct hardware, functionality, integration, and system testing.
• Troubleshoot metering technologies, customer applications, and field tools.
• Support AMI 2.0 field test pilots and deployment activities.
• Develop procedures and job aids for Field Technicians and Meter Operations.
• Coordinate change management and stakeholder support during pre-deployment activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in metering systems, smart grid technologies, or related engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of AMI systems, interoperability standards, and testing methodologies.
• Experience working in lab environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with utility operations and stakeholder coordination.
• Experience supporting field deployments and technicians.
• Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and IT system integration.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
