Contract Manager

A company in San Diego is seeking a Contract Agent to join its Procurement team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the sourcing, contracting, and vendor management processes for a variety of business units across the organization. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers to drive procurement initiatives from initial requirements gathering through contract execution and ongoing vendor engagement. Key Responsibilities Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational needs, purchasing requirements, and sourcing objectives. Develop, manage, and execute Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other RFx events. Coordinate procurement activities from strategy development through vendor selection and contract award. Evaluate supplier proposals, analyze commercial terms, and provide recommendations to business leaders. Lead and/or support contract negotiations to achieve favorable business outcomes while mitigating risk. Review, redline, and negotiate contractual language in collaboration with legal and business teams. Assist with vendor management activities, including supplier performance reviews and relationship management. Ensure contracts and procurement activities align with company policies, compliance requirements, and organizational objectives. Maintain procurement documentation, contract records, and sourcing project timelines. Support cross-functional teams throughout the procurement lifecycle and drive continuous process improvement. Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of directly relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or a related field. Experience managing RFx events from cradle to grave, including planning, execution, evaluation, and award. 2+ years of experience sourcing services. Strong contract review, negotiation, and stakeholder management experience. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience Experience with Ariba.
