Supplier Performance Manager

$85k - $120k

Bare Home

Bare Home |Forest Lake / Columbus, Minnesota| On-Site |Full-Time "Build the Supplier System — Own Vendor Accountability, Dual-Sourcing, and Cost" About Us JP Ecommerce has been named one of the top-ten fastest-growing businesses in Minnesota by Inc. 5000 for four consecutive years. We provide customers with high-quality bedding through our brand Bare Home and are expanding into USA-made mattresses. As a leading textile retail company, we source premium products from China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey, and we have built a reputation for sustainable and ethical sourcing. What sets us apart is an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment where team members see their ideas turn into action quickly. We are a Minnesota-based company with small-town values and big dreams — where you can help shape not just this role, but the company culture itself. Position Overview The Supplier Performance Manager builds and runs the supplier performance system at Bare Home — vendor scorecards and accountability, new-factory identification and qualification, dual-source and multi-country coverage for our priority products, and the cost and commercial terms that protect our margins. This role owns the clock and the consequences: on-time performance, qualification speed, contract remedies, and the cost file. This is a builder's seat. We have strong sourcing execution today; what we are hiring is the other half — the person whose whole job is designing the performance system, standing up new factories, and creating the supplier leverage we do not yet have. You will work hand-in-hand with our Sourcing, Quality Control, Product Development, Planning, and Finance teams, and your recommendations on volume shifts, chargebacks, and supplier exits will carry real weight. Fair warning: you will have real opportunity to shape not just this role, but how our entire supplier program runs. Why On-Site Matters Supplier performance is a contact sport. You will work directly with samples, cost sheets, and factory calls from our Columbus, MN headquarters, alongside our Sourcing, Quality, Product Development, and Supply Chain teams and our executive leadership — where decisions are made quickly and your system gets implemented immediately. Key Responsibilities Build and own the supplier performance system: scorecards, monthly reviews and QBRs, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and volume-shift recommendations Install and track OTIF, quality, sample-turn, cost, and responsiveness metrics — and act on them through a clear escalation path: warning, chargeback, volume shift, exit Put late-delivery and quality remedies into supplier contracts and actually enforce them Define target supplier profiles, build short lists, negotiate commercial terms, assess capability fit, and apply clear kill criteria Stand up multiple new suppliers per year — running two to three factories in parallel through sampling until a winner is chosen Write and run a qualification playbook that moves commercial, capability/audit, quality, color, testing, packaging, and logistics tracks in parallel — cutting first-article and pre-production cycle time without lowering the quality bar Build a complete request-packet standard so factories receive everything the first time: spec, workmanship, color standard, tests, dates, and quantities Build and maintain a product source map: primary and backup factories, country of origin, tool-up cost, quality delta, and landed cost under current and stressed tariff scenarios Own the cost file: should-cost discipline, negotiation calendar, payment terms, MOQs, lead times, and penalty clauses Deliver landed-cost business cases that inform where volume goes Cross-Functional Partnership Run a weekly qualification and launch gate with Product Development, Quality, and Sourcing — blocked tracks, owners, dates, and clear decisions Partner closely with our Sourcing team so execution, compliance, and sample logistics plug into one cadence — this role designs the system; it does not take over existing factory relationships or replace Product Development and Quality on pass/fail decisions Document the process so it scales and survives Qualifications 5–10+ years in supplier performance, supplier development, or strategic sourcing in soft goods, home textiles, apparel, or adjacent manufacturing Personal, hands-on experience standing up multiple new factories — not only maintaining inherited relationships Dual-country or dual-factory sourcing experience (China plus at least one alternative country strongly preferred) Demonstrated negotiation from a cost model — not from the factory's first quote Project management of parallel workstreams across factories and internal teams Comfortable in the weeds: sample tracking, factory calls, cost sheets, audit findings, and QBRs Proven ability to work alongside established sourcing and compliance colleagues as a partner — building the system together, not competing for territory Reliable attendance and punctuality Preferred Home textiles, bedding, or cut-and-sew manufacturing background Experience in color-managed product categories Tariff and country-of-origin cost modeling Built a supplier scorecard and moved real volume because of it Required Skills Excel — strong working proficiency required, including VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and cost-model analysis (this role owns the cost file, source map, and supplier scorecards) Commercial negotiation — payment terms, MOQs, lead times, and enforceable contract remedies Communication — clear written and verbal communication for factories, cross-functional partners, and executive briefings Process builder who still executes — organized, direct, low-drama, writes things down, and holds a date Entrepreneurial, self-starter mentality — comfortable building scalable systems with limited resources Schedule and Location Full-time, on-site at our Columbus, MN headquarters and distribution center. Standard business hours Monday through Friday, with regular early-morning or late-evening availability for international factory calls across time zones. Occasional international travel to supplier factories may be required as the program matures. During the busy season, extended days and schedules — which may include weekends — may be required. We are only considering candidates who: Currently live in Minnesota or the immediate surrounding area Can reliably commute to our Forest Lake / Columbus location daily Are available for in‑person interviews at our office Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $85,000 – $120,000 (based on experience and demonstrated supplier development and negotiation results) Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Company-paid Short-Term Disability and Life Insurance 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave (private plan through Guardian) Employee discount on Bare Home products — you will sleep well knowing you are making a difference At Bare Home, we strive to create a culture where all people come first. We are committed to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce. Therefore, all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. Bare Home is an equal‑opportunity employer, and by doing so, we aim to sustain and promote an inclusive culture that supports future growth for all. #J-18808-Ljbffr
