Description: This unit operates similar to an ICU but is classified as an advanced progressive care unit due to patient ratios. Patients include those recovering 24 hours post-CABG cardiac surgery with chest tubes. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4 or 1:5. LVAD experience is helpful, and the hospital provides necessary training for this device. Candidates must have the necessary experience and meet the stated requirements.
