Sr Associate Patient Coordinator - Diabetes & Endocrinology Center

Senior Associate Patient Coordinator – Diabetes & Endocrine Center Location: Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE. Shift: First Shift – Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week. Full‑time, benefits eligible. Responsibilities Obtain and handle medical records professionally and sensitively, communicating and coordinating with patients, physician offices, hospitals, and other medical organizations. Coordinate patient referrals to designated clinical programs and services, ensuring appointments are timely, accurate, and appropriate. Register and schedule patients in a customer‑service oriented, efficient and effective manner according to department guidelines. Complete complex scheduling of multiple appointments and/or services. Provide clerical support related to scheduling and coordination of various services and surgical procedures within the organization. Offer administrative support as necessary to all team members in clinic, surgical, and procedural areas. Required Qualifications Minimum one year experience in a healthcare customer‑service environment. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year post‑secondary education with coursework in business, medical assistant program, or nursing assistant program, or an equivalent combination of education/experience (one year of education equals one year of experience). Demonstrated verbal and written customer relations skills. Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team. Knowledge of medical terminology. Demonstrated analytical, prioritizing, and organizational skills. Proven ability to provide a high level of customer service to physicians, patients, and other internal/external customers. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a healthcare environment with working knowledge of scheduling or healthcare record collection and registration systems. Clinical background in the assigned area. Associate’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field. Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant. Previous experience with Microsoft Office, data entry, and electronic health records programs such as EPIC. Currently licensed medical assistant, patient care technician, or certified nursing assistant (CNA) certificate.
