*Primary Care Opportunity* *Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA* The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Shreveport, LA, has an immediate opening for a full-time, board certified/board eligible* *Primary Care Physician. * *Shreveport is situated on the Red River in northwest Louisiana. Commonly known as the 'Ark-La-Tex', the point where Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas meet. You'll enjoy a unique combination of two great American heritages: a little Cajun, and since we're less than 15 minutes from the Texas border, a little Lone Star, too. The *Overton Brooks VA Medical Center* is fully dedicated to providing top-quality medical care by serving and honoring America's Veterans. *Highlights of this position include:* * Competitive Starting Salary *$215,000 - $230,000* * Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm. Occasional call on weekends * Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention to scheduled and unscheduled patients in the outpatient clinic setting * Works collaboratively with other health care professionals to accomplish patient, service, and medical center goals, promoting and embracing the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model of care * Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings to establish a diagnosis and initiate appropriate response to emergency health problems * Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, recommend treatment and/or referral * Initiate appropriate referrals and consultations to other clinical services * Must be a U.S. Citizen.
