The Montgomery County Department of Police is the primary law enforcement agency serving Montgomery County, Maryland, and is nationally accredited. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking to fill the Program Specialist I position within the Professional Accountability Division. The ideal candidate will have law enforcement experience with reviewing police body-worn camera footage and a strong understanding of Maryland laws related to police accountability. The position will support our department by reviewing Body Worn Camera footage of police officers performing duties ranging from mundane to high-risk, as required by Montgomery County Law. Employee must have the background and experience to determine compliance with Department Directives, Use of Force Training, De-escalation, Criminal Procedures, Constitutional Policing, Montgomery County Code, and Maryland and Federal Law. Duties include, but are not limited to: Reviewing randomly selected, statistically valid sample of Body Worn Camera Video to assess employee compliance with legal requirements and Department policy, employee performance, consistency between employees’ written reports and recordings. Attending annual and updated trainings to remain current on laws, policies, and procedures. Other duties related to Quality Assurance. Experience: One (1) year of professional experience working in a law enforcement environment reviewing police body-worn camera video. Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted. Experience using law enforcement applications and databases. Experience recently, within the past four (4) years, reviewing police body-worn cameras for compliance. Experience working in a Police Department in the State of Maryland. Experience with Maryland and Federal Laws related to police procedures. #J-18808-Ljbffr Montgomery County (MD)
