About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Evenings Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC or TNS Must-Have: Required certifications; 2 years of nursing experience; 1 prior travel assignment preferred; SANE RN experience preferred Description: The position requires nursing skills to care for a diverse population of patients. Candidates will engage with infants to elders presenting various complaints. Experience with critically ill patients, including those in cardiac arrest, strokes, and heart attacks is essential. The facility sees Level 1 and 2 trauma patients, and nurses support a specialized trauma team. Experience in implementing and titrating multiple types of drips is required. Candidates should be proficient in managing vasopressor drips, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications. Nurses will work alongside a variety of medical staff, including attending physicians and mid-level providers. Support staff are available, such as ED techs, who assist with patient care. Candidates will need to interpret rhythms and act on life-threatening situations. Nurses must have the capability of drawing labs or coordinating with techs for lab draws. Shifts are fixed with no day/night rotations, and scheduling will accommodate time-off requests when possible. There is a requirement for weekend shifts every other weekend. Holidays are also required based on department needs but are negotiable. Travelers have no call or standby requirements. Rare floating to assist other units may occur, typically as support staff. Scrub colors should be tasteful with solid colored shirts under scrubs.
