Telemetry Nurse (RN) in Deville, LA

Seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide high-quality care on a busy Telemetry unit. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a mix of MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and some med-surg overflow patients. The unit also manages numerous cardiac drips, with no nitrate administration but responsibility for drip management.


Schedule:

• Nights: 7PM - 7AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call shifts
• Full-time contract
• Floating to other units required when needed

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in state of employment or a compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Minimum one year of relevant Telemetry or similar nursing experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver both routine and complex patient care independently as defined by the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with varying cardiac and medical needs
• Administer medications and cardiac drips safely and according to protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and interventions in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and post-discharge care, addressing their psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs
• Lead and delegate assignments to the care team, ensuring effective management of clinical situations
• Maintain all required annual competencies and participate in ongoing orientation or residency as needed
