Practice Lead Attorney — Sexual Abuse Litigation

About the opportunity
Our client, an established plaintiff trial firm, is building its Washington sexual abuse practice and is hiring the attorney who will lead it. This is a practice to own, not a docket to service.
The firm is already litigating abuse cases in Washington. This role exists to take that work over and grow it — with full autonomy, a partnership track, and the firm's intention to make this person the public face of the practice.
What you'll do
- Lead the firm's Washington sexual abuse practice, with autonomy over case strategy, case selection, and staffing
- Represent survivors in civil claims against institutional defendants — school districts, foster care and child welfare agencies, hospitality brands, youth and religious organizations
- Own your files end to end: case evaluation, discovery, expert work, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial
- Work with survivors in a trauma-informed way, with the support and pacing that requires
- Grow the practice and, over time, the team around it
What we're looking for
- Prosecutorial background strongly preferred — former federal prosecutor (AUSA or DOJ) or former state prosecutor/ADA with sex crimes experience
- 2–3+ years litigating civil sexual abuse lawsuits
- Demonstrated courtroom ability — trials, arbitrations, or contested hearings you first-chaired
- Admitted in Washington, or eligible and willing to be admitted
- The judgment and steadiness this practice area demands
A plus
- Hotel sex trafficking claims (TVPRA / 18 U.S.C. § 1595)
- School abuse claims, public or private
- Foster care and child welfare abuse claims
