Data Center Cable Technician

Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift

Job Description

We are looking for Cable Technicians to support large-scale Data Center projects. We have openings for both experienced technicians and entry-level helpers who are looking to build a career in structured cabling and data center infrastructure.

This role will involve installing, pulling, routing, terminating, and testing Cat6 and fiber optic cabling within a live data center environment. Candidates who have experience with cable terminations, certification testing, and leading small crews are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, dress, and secure Cat6 and fiber optic cabling
• Install cable pathways, ladder racks, j-hooks, and cable management systems
• Terminate Cat6 and fiber cabling
• Perform cable testing, troubleshooting, and certification
• Label and document installed cabling
• Work safely in active data center environments
• Read and follow cabling diagrams and project drawings
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all site safety requirements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structured cabling experience
• Experience leading crews or overseeing portions of projects
• Strong background with Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber installations
• Experience terminating and testing copper and fiber cabling
• Comfortable working within active data centers

• 6 months to 2 years of construction, low voltage, electrical, or cabling experience
• Willingness to learn structured cabling and data center operations
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance

Required Certifications

• OSHA 10 Certification (Required)
• Ability to pass any required background screenings
• Reliable transportation to project sites

This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
