Summary

Manages assigned commodities or supplier portfolios to procure materials, equipment, and services that meet company standards for price, quality, delivery, and reliability. Leads competitive sourcing events, conducts price and total cost analyses, negotiates mid-complexity agreements, and maintains purchasing systems and documentation. Applies solid knowledge of company products and operations to align sourcing decisions with demand plans; proactively resolves supply, quality, and delivery issues.

What you'll do

• Plan and execute RFx events; analyze bids to establish price objectives and purchase feasibility; recommend awards. Negotiate prices, discounts, delivery, payment, warranties, and service levels within authority; coordinate with legal for contract terms.
• Own day-to-day supplier performance for assigned categories; drive corrective actions and improvement plans using KPIs. Collaborate with planning, operations, engineering, quality, and finance on requirements, specifications, timing, and inventory impact.
• Perform TCO and should-cost analyses; track savings, cost avoidance, and value improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate supplier records, contracts, sourcing lists, and item/vendor masters; ensure compliance with policies and audit readiness.
• Generate reports, dashboards, and statistical analyses on spend, supplier performance, lead times, and market trends; present insights to stakeholders. Support risk assessments, dual-sourcing, and continuity-of-supply initiatives.

What you need

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field.

3-5 years of procurement experience managing direct and/or indirect commodities.

Proficiency with Excel and basic data analysis.

Knowledge: Category management basics, contract terms and risk (Incoterms, warranties, liabilities), supplier quality concepts, inventory/demand planning, compliance and ethical sourcing.

Skills: Structured negotiation, stakeholder management, analytical modeling (TCO, price indices, BOM roll-ups), problem solving/root cause analysis, clear business writing and presentations.

Abilities: Balance cost/quality/delivery/risk, interpret specifications/SOWs, prioritize and manage multiple projects, influence without authority, drive cross-functional alignment and supplier improvements.
