Job Description
Title : Credit Risk Analyst
\nClient Title: Credit Analyst, Invoice to Cash
\nLocation: Remote , US
\nContract Duration: 1 year (Sep 1, 2026 – Sep 1, 2027)
\nPay Rate : $100/hr on W2
\n \nJOB DESCRIPTION
\n \nBusiness Reason: New Credit Analyst Team that will handle exceptions to automated processes, conduct risk assessments for businesses based on risk thresholds and spend requirements , and review credit holds. The role requires candidates to make data-driven recommendations regarding order approvals and document the rationale , with expectations for high autonomy and the ability to improve existing processes.
\n \nNotes: Ideal candidates should have 6+ years experience within B2B software or consumption-based businesses , such as telecommunications . The role specifically requires experience in a B2B context, as consumer-focused backgrounds are not suitable. Proficiency in Salesforce is a firm requirement, and the team will primarily operate within Stripe, Salesforce, and Teserio.
\n \nJob Description:
\n \nAbout the role
\nWe are looking for a Credit Analyst to join our Invoice to Cash team on a contract basis. Invoice to Cash owns everything that happens between a signed order and cash in the bank, including credit, billing support, collections, and cash application. This role works at both ends of that process . At the front , your reviews decide how much credit we extend to a new customer , whether an order for an existing customer with a past due balance should be released, and whether a prospective customer is who they say they are. Once a customer is on board, you keep watching. You will monitor the existing customer base for changes in payment behavior, growing exposure, or outside signals that a customer's ability or willingness to pay has changed, and raise those concerns to Collections and Invoice to Cash leadership before they become a past due balance.
\n \nCredit here is a balancing act. Our customer base is growing quickly and includes everything from early-stage startups to some of the largest companies in the world, and much of our revenue is consumption based, so exposure can change fast. We want to protect the company from late payment, non-payment, and fraud without adding friction to the sales process that slows down legitimate customers. You will make that call many times a day, document it in a way that stands up to audit and supports our revenue recognition requirements under ASC 606, and help us improve the policy itself as the business changes.
\n \nYou will work closely with Sales and Deal Desk, Collections, Revenue Accounting, and Legal , and you will be one of the first people focused full time on credit risk. Recommendations you make about our thresholds, procedures, and tooling will shape how the credit function operates as it grows.
\n \nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- Perform creditworthiness reviews for new customers and for existing customers requesting additional credit, applying our Credit Policy and risk tolerance thresholds, and recommending credit limits, payment terms, prepayment, or other risk mitigation where appropriate \n
- Review prospective customers and orders for indicators of fraud, such as attempts to purchase services with no intention of paying, and escalate or decline in line with our procedures \n
- Review order release requests for existing customers with past due balances , weighing collection risk against the customer relationship and revenue opportunity, and communicate decisions and conditions clearly to Sales and Collections \n
- Document every review , decision, and exception so that the credit file supports our collectability assessment under ASC 606 and can be produced for internal and external auditors without rework \n
- Monitor the existing customer base on an ongoing basis for changes in payment behavior , exposure, or public information that suggest increased risk, and raise concerns proactively to Collections and Invoice to Cash leadership \n
- Track and report on credit review volume , turnaround time, exposure, and outcomes , and use that data to identify where reviews are adding friction without reducing risk \n
- Review our current credit risk tolerances, policies, and procedures and recommend enhancements that allow credit to keep pace with the business, including where automation or AI tooling can take on routine reviews \n
- Support internal and external audits and SOX testing related to credit, and help maintain the procedure documentation the team relies on \n
- Share what you learn from reviews with Collections, Sales, and Deal Desk so that patterns in credit risk inform how we sell and how we collect \n
You may be a good fit if you
\n- \n
- Experience performing commercial (business to business) credit reviews and making credit recommendations under a written credit policy \n
- Ability to read and interpret company financial statements and third-party credit reports and translate them into a credit recommendation \n
- Experience documenting credit decisions to a standard that internal or external auditors have relied on \n
- Working understanding of how customer credit assessments support the collectability requirement under ASC 606 \n
- Sound judgment in situations where protecting the company and enabling a sale point in different directions, and the ability to explain your reasoning to both a seller and an auditor \n
- Clear, concise written communication, since most of your decisions will be delivered in writing to people outside of Finance \n
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for exposure analysis and reporting \n
Strong candidates may also
\n- \n
- 6 or more years of experience in commercial credit, credit risk, or a related accounts receivable role , ideally at a business to business software or consumption based company \n
- Experience as a founding or early member of a credit team at a company that was growing quickly, including helping to stand up the policy, procedures, and tooling from the beginning \n
- Experience identifying and preventing first-party or account-opening fraud in a business setting \n
- Experience with an order hold and release process and with partnering directly with Sales on credit decisions \n
- Experience with credit and collections platforms such as Tesorio, HighRadius, Billtrust, or Growfin , and with credit data providers such as Dun & Bradstreet, Moody's, Experian, or Creditsafe \n
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Stripe, or an ERP such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP \n
- Experience contributing to the design of a credit policy , scoring model, or risk tolerance framework , not only operating within one \n
- Experience supporting SOX controls or audit requests in a credit or accounts receivable function \n
- Comfort using AI tools in day to day work and interest in applying them to credit review and monitoring \n
- Basic SQL for pulling your own data \n
