You will coordinate marketing and communications projects from intake through completion, manage day-to-day workflow, keep projects and people aligned, support consistent brand execution, and help the department deliver responsive, high-quality service across digital, social, email, print, photography, and video work.Position PurposeThe Project Manager, Marketing and Communications, serves as the central liaison between the creative team and internal customers, coordinating projects from intake through completion to ensure quality, timely delivery, customer satisfaction, and adherence to brand You Will DoOperational Execution & Administration — 30%Evaluate and prepare projects for execution by gathering information, reviewing content, and ensuring creative and production staff have the resources needed to proceed.Manage creative projects from kickoff through delivery, maintaining scope, timelines, milestones, priorities, and deliverables.Manage day-to-day workflow for digital, social, email, print, photography, and video projects from concept through launch.Review and proofread materials for accuracy, consistency, design, and brand compliance.Coordinate internal reviews, revisions, customer approvals, project files, creative assets, and documentation.Coordinate promotional item requests, including vendor communication, artwork submission, and billing.Develop, write, and edit content for College materials and publications as needed.Planning, Coordination & Continuous Improvement — 30%Plan project activities and establish timelines, milestones, priorities, dependencies, and expectations.Coordinate writers, designers, print production staff, freelance vendors, and other resources.Balance competing schedules and priorities to support timely completion of department work.Coordinate freelance design briefs, scheduling, asset transfers, and creative requirements.Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to writers, designers, and print production staff.Develop project management, workflow, and operational practices that improve efficiency, consistency, and team effectiveness.Identify recurring workflow issues, recommend improvements, and provide training on project systems and processes.Service & Relationship Management — 20%Serve as a primary point of contact for internal customers requesting Marketing and Communications projects.Clarify project needs, scope, deliverables, timelines, priorities, and resource requirements.Manage customer expectations and communicate project status, changes, and requirements throughout the project lifecycle.Coordinate information, feedback, approvals, and other resources needed to advance projects.Respond to questions about project management systems, creative assets, files, and department processes.Critical Thinking & Decision-Making — 15%Assess project requirements, resources, timelines, and priorities to determine appropriate execution approaches.Identify project risks, competing priorities, resource constraints, and workflow issues and determine solutions or adjustments.Exercise judgment in coordinating requirements, revisions, approvals, and competing customer needs.Identify accuracy, consistency, brand, design, or production concerns requiring correction.Determine when issues can be resolved within established processes and when additional direction or escalation is needed.Additional Responsibilities — 5%Support College content development and department projects as needed.Provide day-to-day leadership and support to creative and print production staff.Supervise work-study and student intern staff assisting with department projects, as assigned.Maintain current knowledge of College brand standards, Marketing and Communications practices, project management tools, and relevant technologies.Participate in required training, professional development, and departmental initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned.Leadership & Supervisory ResponsibilitiesProvide direction, coaching, and performance feedback to assigned employees and/or supervisors.Set performance expectations and service standards and hold assigned staff accountable.Support employee development through training, mentoring, and professional development.Allocate staffing, responsibilities, and resources to support priorities and effective service delivery.Address performance, employee relations, and workplace concerns in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.Provide leadership and operational oversight for the department in the absence of the Director of Marketing and Communications.What You Need to SucceedQualificationsBachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business administration.Minimum 3+ years of experience in marketing operations, communications, or creative project management.Working knowledge of digital marketing, multi-channel communications, and print production.Demonstrated experience managing projects using a project management workflow system.Experience with asset management using an organized internal or third-party file management system is desired.Proficiency with project management tools, Google Workspace, digital asset management systems, and Adobe Creative Suite.Proven ability to engage and lead a creative team and a diverse mix of internal customers.Customer-service driven and collaborative across teams, with an approachable, flexible, responsive, and accountable style.Proven problem-solving ability, resourcefulness, adaptability, and ability to manage a high volume of concurrent projects, competing priorities, and deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication
