Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) triages patients by telephone or walk‑in to determine the urgency and level of care needed. The RN assists the Practice Manager with supervision of clinical support staff and supports patient care under the guidance of CHP physicians. The RN contributes to a caring, collaborative, and innovative work environment. Salary Range $32.00 - $37.00 per hour Responsibilities Facilitate comprehensive care for all patients. Provide patient education, both written and verbal, including during pregnancy, post‑operative, and post‑partum visits. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and ancillary services and specialty referrals. Respond to patient emergencies within the scope of RN license. Screen, triage, and respond to patient inquiries via telephone, EMR messages, or walk‑in; approve same‑day visits when appropriate and assist with referrals to area specialists. Assist physicians with procedures requiring nursing support, administer immunizations and allergy shots, manage prescription medication requests, process laboratory results, review and flag abnormal findings, and counsel patients with test results. Chart procedures, run daily equipment checks, and aid in quality assurance charting (e.g., HCG, strep, sickle cell, urinalysis). Ensure correct billing codes and perform other routine office duties as requested. Room patients as needed to maintain flow. Answer staff questions within scope of practice and provide staff training as assigned by the Practice Manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to provide people‑centered care. Commitment to improving nursing quality. Essential Skills and Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license and/or a BSN from an accredited nursing school. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of three years’ experience in an ambulatory or medical office/outpatient setting. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) required; experience with Athena preferred. Licensed as an RN by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
