The Role

The Senior Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial side of multiple construction projects, partnering closely with project managers to ensure accurate billing, cost tracking, forecasting and reporting. This person will play a key role in keeping projects financially organized, identifying issues early and supporting the overall success of the project team.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting for multiple construction projects
• Prepare and process owner billings, subcontractor payments and change orders
• Track project costs, budgets, commitments and forecasts
• Partner with Project Managers to review financial performance
• Assist with monthly reporting, cost to complete analysis and project closeout
• Maintain accurate documentation within the accounting system
• Support lien waivers, compliance documents and subcontractor billing requirements
• Identify billing or cost issues and help resolve them quickly
• Work closely with internal accounting, operations and executive leadership

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in project accounting within construction
• Strong understanding of job costing, billing, change orders and project financials
• Ability to work closely with project managers and field teams
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable managing multiple projects at once
• Clear communicator who can explain financial information to non accounting teams
• Experience with construction accounting software is a plus
