CORPORATE GOVERNANCE CONTROLLER

ENVITA | Full-Time | On-Site | Scottsdale, Arizona Compensation: $115,000-$165,000 base salary | Performance-based bonus opportunity Reports to: Director of Accounting About the Opportunity Envita is seeking an exceptionally organized, hands-on financial professional to serve as the Corporate Governance Controller for our management company. This is not a traditional Corporate Governance Controller position. The role combines controller-level accounting responsibility, corporate governance, executive financial reporting, payroll administration, entity management, and financial operations into one highly visible position. As responsibilities continue transitioning into the management company, this individual will effectively function as its controller. The successful candidate will own the management company’s day-to-day accounting operations while maintaining the integrity of corporate structure and becoming a trusted partner to the Director of Accounting and executive leadership. The right person will be equally comfortable preparing an executive financial package, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, reviewing cash flow, maintaining corporate records, coordinating with outside advisors, and improving financial controls and reporting. Why This Role Exists As Envita continues to expand across multiple healthcare businesses, operating companies, and emerging opportunities, the complexity of its financial and administrative operations is increasing. With additional responsibilities transitioning into the management company, Envita needs a single accountable professional who can: Establish clear ownership of the management company’s accounting operations. Maintain accurate and current corporate-governance documentation. Protect the financial and administrative integrity of Envita’s multi-entity structure. Deliver timely, accurate, and decision-ready financial information to executive leadership. Coordinate effectively with legal, tax, banking, and other external advisors. The Opportunity to Make an Impact The Corporate Governance Controller will help build the financial and governance foundation supporting a sophisticated, growing organization. Rather than simply maintaining an established accounting function, this person will evaluate current processes, clarify ownership, improve controls, organize corporate records, increase reporting visibility, and create scalable systems. The successful candidate will become one of the organization’s most trusted financial and administrative partners. Key Performance Objectives 1. Assume Full Ownership of Management-Company Accounting Within the first 90 days, develop a complete understanding of the management company’s financial operations, reporting requirements, banking relationships, payroll processes, affiliated entities, and accounting workflows. By the end of the first year: Maintain accurate, current, and audit-ready accounting records. Complete monthly reconciliations and financial close activities on schedule. Ensure accounts payable and accounts receivable are processed accurately and timely. Maintain a reliable general ledger and chart of accounts. Produce accurate financial statements for the management company and designated subsidiaries. Coordinate annual tax preparation effectively with outside CPA firms. Identify and resolve accounting inconsistencies, control gaps, and documentation deficiencies. 2. Build a Reliable Corporate-Governance and Entity-Management System Within the first three months, establish a centralized, organized, and dependable system for maintaining corporate records across the organization’s legal entities, including operating and management agreements, corporate resolutions, ownership records, loan documents, annual reports, state filings, minute books, and entity-formation or restructuring documents. Success will be demonstrated by current, easily retrievable documentation, clearly assigned responsibilities, and no preventable missed filing or compliance deadlines. Within the first 90 days, establish a consistent monthly executive-reporting process that gives leadership meaningful visibility into financial performance, liquidity, cash requirements, investments, risks, and operating trends. Monthly financial statements and entity-level summaries. Cash-flow and liquidity reporting. Budget-to-actual performance. Investment and portfolio reporting. Key trends, risks, exceptions, and recommended corrective actions. Opportunities for cost reduction or operational improvement. The goal is not simply to distribute financial information. The goal is to organize and interpret it so leadership can make better and faster decisions. 4. Maintain Accurate Payroll and Benefits Administration Immediately assume responsibility for administering payroll for approximately 40 employees through ADP while coordinating closely with Human Resources and leadership. Accurate and timely payroll processing. Correct payroll deductions and employee changes. Organized payroll and compliance documentation. Proper coordination of onboarding and offboarding information. Accurate benefits administration. Timely resolution of payroll discrepancies. No avoidable payroll-tax, benefits, or employee-record compliance failures. 5. Become a Trusted Financial-Operations Partner Develop strong working relationships with the Director of Accounting, executive leadership, Human Resources, legal counsel, outside CPAs, tax advisors, investment professionals, insurance providers, and banking partners. The individual should become known for complete discretion, financial accuracy, strong judgment, reliable follow-through, proactive communication, exceptional organization, timely escalation of risks, practical problem-solving, and personal ownership of results. What Success Looks Like First 30 Days Build an understanding of the management company and affiliated legal entities. Review the accounting structure, general ledger, reporting calendar, and financial systems. Understand payroll, benefits, accounts-payable, accounts-receivable, and banking processes. Inventory key corporate documents, agreements, resolutions, and filing requirements. Meet primary internal and external stakeholders. Identify immediate accounting, governance, reporting, or documentation risks. Establish clear communication and prioritization practices with the Director of Accounting. First 60 Days Independently manage recurring accounting responsibilities. Complete payroll and core accounting transactions accurately. Establish a reliable close and reconciliation schedule. Organize entity documentation and compliance deadlines. Clarify missing records, unresolved accounting items, and process gaps. Begin improving executive financial reporting. Recommend practical process and control improvements. Demonstrate strong ownership with limited day-to-day supervision. First 90 Days Function as the primary accounting owner for the management company. Produce accurate and timely financial information. Maintain reliable payroll, AP, AR, and reconciliation processes. Deliver an organized monthly executive financial package. Maintain a centralized governance and entity-documentation system. Establish strong working relationships with outside professional advisors. Present a prioritized improvement plan for controls, reporting, cash management, and governance. Exceptional Success After One Year Complete ownership of the management company’s accounting operations. Accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial records. A disciplined and repeatable month-end close process. Complete and current corporate records and governance documentation. Accurate monthly executive financial reporting packages. Improved visibility into cash flow, liquidity, performance, and investments. Timely and accurate payroll and benefits administration. Stronger coordination among accounting, HR, legal, tax, banking, and executive stakeholders. Improved financial controls and administrative processes. Reduced preventable financial, compliance, and documentation risks. Recognition as a trusted financial-operations partner to leadership. Core Responsibilities Accounting and Financial Operations Perform full-cycle accounting for the management company and select affiliated entities. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules. Complete bank, credit-card, and balance-sheet reconciliations. Manage month-end and year-end close activities. Prepare financial statements and management reports. Maintain accurate QuickBooks records. Monitor cash flow across multiple entities. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Coordinate annual tax preparation with outside CPA firms. Support acquisitions, investments, financing activities, and new business ventures. Identify opportunities for cost savings, control improvements, and operating efficiencies. Corporate Governance and Entity Management Maintain the integrity of a complex multi-entity corporate structure. Organize and maintain corporate records and entity documentation. Maintain operating agreements, management agreements, ownership records, corporate resolutions, loan documents, and promissory notes. Maintain annual reports, state filings, minute books, and compliance records. Track filing requirements and governance deadlines across entities. Coordinate with outside legal counsel regarding documentation and filings. Support entity formation, restructuring, ownership changes, and related documentation. Ensure leadership can quickly access accurate and current corporate records. Prepare monthly executive financial reporting packages. Develop dashboards summarizing financial and operating performance. Prepare cash-flow, liquidity, and entity-level financial reports. Prepare investment reporting and portfolio summaries. Track investment performance and returns. Analyze trends, risks, exceptions, and emerging issues. Present recommendations that support executive decision-making. Payroll and Benefits Administration Process payroll for approximately 40 employees through ADP. Maintain payroll records and compliance documentation. Coordinate employee changes with Human Resources. Support onboarding and offboarding documentation. Administer employee benefits and payroll deductions. Ensure payroll-tax filings and benefit deductions are completed accurately. Resolve payroll, deduction, and employee-record discrepancies promptly. Coordinate with ADP and outside service providers as needed. Executive and Operational Support Coordinate with CPAs, attorneys, tax advisors, investment professionals, bankers, insurance professionals, and other outside advisors. Support confidential executive financial and operational projects. Maintain exceptional organization of financial and corporate records. Develop and document improved financial and administrative processes. Support special projects related to acquisitions, financing, investments, entity development, and new business opportunities. Manage sensitive financial and corporate information with complete discretion. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related field. Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience. Demonstrated experience owning the full accounting cycle. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Advanced QuickBooks experience. Experience managing general-ledger accounting, reconciliations, close processes, and financial-statement preparation. Accounts-payable, accounts-receivable, and payroll-administration experience. Experience working with multiple legal entities. Exceptional organizational and document-management abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and operate with minimal supervision. Willingness and ability to personally perform detailed accounting and administrative work. Highly Preferred Qualifications Family-office or private-investment-office experience. Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Family Office Manager, or Finance and Operations Manager experience. Experience supporting a single-family or multi-family office . Experience within private equity, real-estate investment, healthcare management organizations, investment companies, or closely held private businesses. Experience with complex ownership and entity structures. Experience working directly with executives, owners, or investment principals. Experience with ADP Workforce Now. Experience coordinating with outside legal, accounting, tax, banking, and investment professionals. Knowledge of corporate governance, entity compliance, and corporate recordkeeping. Experience supporting acquisitions, investments, financing arrangements, or new business ventures. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a controller-level accounting professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats and can move comfortably between strategic financial responsibilities and detailed execution. They may prepare an executive dashboard in the morning, process payroll or complete a reconciliation in the afternoon, and coordinate a corporate filing with outside counsel before the end of the day. They naturally take ownership, build systems, and ensure commitments are completed without repeated follow-up. Candidates coming from family offices may be particularly well suited because they are often accustomed to supporting executive leadership, managing multiple legal entities, maintaining confidential financial information, coordinating with outside professionals, and overseeing both high-level financial reporting and detailed accounting work. Core Competencies The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional accountability, financial judgment, attention to detail, discretion, prioritization, organization, and follow-through. They must be comfortable managing competing priorities, communicating proactively, identifying risks, and moving between strategic and tactical responsibilities without losing accuracy or momentum. Culture and Leadership Alignment Envita is looking for someone who approaches their work with integrity, humility, professionalism, accountability, and a service-oriented mindset. Take personal ownership rather than waiting for direction. Communicate emerging risks before they become larger problems. Remain calm, organized, and dependable under pressure. Treat confidential information with the highest level of discretion. Build collaborative relationships while maintaining appropriate controls. Welcome feedback and continuously improve. Value accuracy without becoming parized by perfection. Support leadership with honest, clear, and decision-ready financial information. Enjoy helping build sophisticated organizations rather than simply maintaining existing processes. Compensation and Benefits Base salary of $115,000-$165,000, commensurate with experience. Performance-based bonus opportunity. Paid time off and company holidays. Long-term career-growth opportunity. Direct exposure to executive leadership. Opportunity to help build the financial and governance infrastructure supporting a sophisticated, growing multi-entity organization. Why Join Envita? This is a long-term career opportunity for a financial professional who wants greater ownership, autonomy, variety, and executive visibility than a traditional accounting position typically provides. You will have the opportunity to become a trusted member of the organization, oversee the financial and governance infrastructure supporting multiple companies, and work directly with leadership on accounting operations, entity management, investments, financial strategy, and organizational growth. For the right individual, this is an opportunity to help build something meaningful rather than simply inherit and maintain an existing accounting function. #J-18808-Ljbffr Envita Medical Centers LLC
