Registered Nurse (RN) - Outpatient Hematology/Oncology
Full-time position, Monday through Friday. Day shifts may start as early as 7:00 AM and end as late as 5:00 PM. This role does not require weekend or holiday coverage.
Minimum Experience Required
At least 1 year of nursing experience, specifically in oncology.
Certifications/Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Completion of either a bio/chemo administration course or fundamentals course from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) within 2 weeks of hire.
- Current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards, practices, and healthcare techniques. Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating competencies in professional judgment and patient care.
- Assisting providers in patient care and education.
- Actively participating as a member of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care with patients, families, and caregivers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of nursing principles and skills necessary for quality patient care, including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures, medication effects, and education.
- Familiarity with safety hazards and precautions.
- Knowledge of office procedures and medical terminology.
- Basic understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
- Capacity to react calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and make timely decisions.
- Competence in administering medications and utilizing medical equipment for treatment.
Education
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Work Environment
This role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals and engaging with patients and families in a supportive outpatient setting.

No holiday coverage is required for this position.
