Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Weekend Positions Available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a flex unit serving both medical-surgical floor and stepdown patients based on census and hospital needs, managing a ratio of up to 6:1 (floor) or 3:1 (stepdown)
• Titrate drips per physician orders, including heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, PCA pumps (morphine, dilaudid, fentanyl), and TPN
• Monitor and manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators (stepdown); escalate ventilator setting changes to ICU per protocol
• Collaborate with Clinical Associates (CAs), charge RNs, and house supervisors to ensure safe, efficient patient care across a diverse medical patient population
• Utilize telemetry monitoring equipment; remote telemetry surveillance and central monitoring are available — RNs are not required to independently read their own strips
• Float to other floor or stepdown units as needed based on staffing and patient census

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records (EPIC experience is required)
• Ability to manage both medical-surgical (6:1) and stepdown (3:1) patient ratios
• Comfort with titrating a variety of drips and managing complex medical diagnoses

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring equipment
• Experience with high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP, and CPAP management
