Sewer Collection Division Maintenance WorkerPerforms semi-skilled maintenance work in the Sewer Collection Division of the City in the maintenance and repair of sewer lines, due to leaks, clearing obstructions, other construction, repair items, etc. Position requires after normal business hours, on-call and work on appointed weekendsEssential Functions and Duties:Assist with repairs, projects and preventative maintenance of all machinery and equipment.Maintain and repair sewer lines; repair and replace sewer lines due to leaks; unclog sewer lines; lay new sewer lines as required.Operate pneumatic and hand tools; operate all equipment and trucks; clean and maintain equipment.Must be able to explain and take directions via phone from Supervisor and Warehouse Storekeeper, when necessary for needed repairsHelp maintain a parts inventoryMust be able to work without supervision; must be able to work "on-call".Operate trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials and supplies.Operates trucks and construction or power equipment, such as mechanized broom, backhoe, man-lift, dump truck, snowplow, front-end loader, hydraulic excavators, skid steers and jetter truck.Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GED.Certificates and Licenses:Must have a valid Class A CDL Driver's License.Must have or be able to obtain within 12 months ODEQ Class "D" Operator License or higher.Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of State and DEQ regulations governing the operation of a wastewater collection systems.Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely with supervisors, peers, salesmen and suppliers, both verbally and in written form; must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructionsMust have basic math skills.Physical Job Requirements:Physical Activities - None - Under 1/3 - To2/3 - Over2/3 - Physical Activities - None - Under 1/3 - To2/3 - Over2/3Stand - X - Lift up to 50 pounds - XWalk - X - Work Indoors and Outdoors - XSit - X - Normal Vision with or without corrective lensesNormal hearing level with or without aidModerate to Loud Noise LevelMust be able to go from indoor to outdoor environment dailyUse hands to finger,Handle, or feel - XClimb or balance - XStoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl - XTalk or hear - XTaste or Smell - XConditions of Employment:Subject to post offer, pre-employment drug screenSubject to post offer, pre-employment fit for duty examinationSubject to post offer, pre-employment criminal background checkMust be at least 18 years of agePerformance Measurements:The Public Utilities Department functions well, provides excellent customer service to employees and the public, and administers City policies and proceduresPolicies and procedures relevant to Public Utilities are understood, followed, and modeled for other employees.Effective relations exist with co-workers as well as with the public and complaints are resolved in a timely manner.The City's professional reputation is maintained.This is a Safety Sensitive position:This job has been classified as a "safety sensitive" position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations, the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act and/or Oklahoma Medical Marijuana laws.
