Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Job Description

This position leads and directs the quality assurance function to ensure that all products consistently meet established quality standards and fulfill customer expectations. The role oversees inspection and quality control activities for purchased materials, in-process components, and finished products, while developing and maintaining robust quality systems and procedures in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and direct a team of 7–8 quality inspectors responsible for incoming, in-process, and final inspection on the manufacturing floor.
• Oversee all inspection and quality control procedures for purchased materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain standards, methods, and documentation for inspection, testing, and evaluation of products and materials.
• Establish daily and weekly quality control activities that effectively support production schedules and operational goals.
• Develop, implement, and maintain AS9100 procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with applicable quality management system requirements.
• Coordinate departmental activities to ensure that all quality assurance processes are aligned, efficient, and continuously improved.
• Ensure all quality assurance team members meet training requirements, including planning, assigning, and directing their work to maintain high performance and compliance.
• Maintain and oversee the calibration program to evaluate and verify the precision and accuracy of production equipment and measuring tools.
• Maintain and manage the Material Review Board in collaboration with the Quality Administrator to ensure timely disposition and distribution of nonconforming products.
• Lead and support root cause analysis activities to investigate quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure that inspection and quality control practices comply with applicable governmental regulations and industry standards, including FAA and ISO requirements.
• Promote awareness of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and foreign object damage (FOD) in all relevant production and inspection activities.

Essential Skills

• Proven quality assurance and quality management experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably under FDA or FAA oversight.
• Hands-on experience with AS9100 quality management systems, including procedures and work instructions.
• Strong experience in quality control across incoming, in-process, and final inspection stages on a manufacturing floor.
• Demonstrated ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Proficiency in using a wide variety of measuring instruments and the ability to understand and interpret 2D technical drawings.
• Awareness of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and its impact on product quality.
• Awareness of foreign object damage (FOD) and its prevention in manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of FAA requirements related to quality and compliance.
• Knowledge of ISO standards, raw materials, and production processes relevant to manufacturing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience managing inspection teams or quality control staff in a production environment.
• Familiarity with calibration programs for production equipment and measurement tools.
• Experience working with Material Review Boards and nonconformance disposition processes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and administrative teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain structured quality activities and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical and regulatory requirements clearly to team members.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility with a strong focus on collaboration between quality assurance, production, and other departments. Work is performed on and around the manufacturing floor, where inspection activities cover incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products. The environment requires regular use of measuring instruments, interaction with calibrated equipment, and adherence to AS9100, FAA, and ISO-related practices. The schedule includes work on Mondays and follows standard production hours, with expectations to be present on-site to support daily and weekly quality control activities. Appropriate attire is required for a manufacturing and inspection setting, including any necessary safety or ESD-related measures.

This is a Permanent position based out of Boca Raton, FL.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
