Athletic Trainer

Job Summary Provide athletic training services to athletes and other patients under the direction of a team physician or by written referral from a physician, in accordance with the State Athletic Training Practice Act. Assist in managing and marketing the Sports Medicine Program and maintain compliance with professional, clinical, technical, communication, and documentation requirements. Responsibilities Execute timely, accurate, effective, and cost‑efficient athletic training services in compliance with established policies, procedures, and practices. Serve as a knowledgeable resource on current and proposed standards of practice and state guidelines for athletic training services. Assist Sports Medicine Relationships personnel to ensure appropriate staffing models for primary sites, pre‑participation physicals, and special events per partner agreements. Maintain accurate records of injuries and treatments and provide insurance claim information for sports injuries treated by a physician. Support the attending or consulting physician with medical management of patients within the athletic trainer’s scope of practice. Collaborate with the Sports Medicine leadership team and other stakeholders to market and promote St.Luke’s Sports Medicine services. Act as liaison between Network entities (physicians, sports performance, physical therapy, nutrition, EMS, school nurse, etc.), school districts, athletes and parents regarding program assignment. Assist in implementation and collection of clinical care/outcomes, customer service improvement, operational data, and safety. Communicate regularly with athletic trainers at their sites and model professional behaviors, mentoring students from approved colleges and universities. Ensure compliance with Network policies regarding confidentiality, safety, attendance, and dress code, and provide required professional development documentation. Maintain treatment orders and operating procedures reviewed annually and approved by the supervising physician. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited athletic training education program. Active Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Athletic Training License; New Jersey Athletic Training License preferred. Recorded professional development (certifications, presentations, professional associations). 0–3 years clinical experience. Fluency in Spanish preferred. Physical Demands Sit up to 2 hours per day; stand up to 8 hours per day; walk 6 hours per day. Occasionally lift, carry, and push objects up to 30 pounds and transport patients up to 250 pounds via wheelchair. Frequent stooping, bending, reaching above shoulder level; requires sensory abilities for hearing and vision. Salary and Benefits Minimum‑maximum pay range: $52,200.00–$83,520.00.
