Senior Cost Accountant

job summary:
Tatum has been engaged by a high-growth healthcare client in Boca Raton, FL, to place an experienced Senior Cost Accountant . This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role within a collaborative accounting team.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong manufacturing background, hands-on standard costing expertise, and high proficiency in enterprise ERP systems (SAP preferred) to manage inventory, variance analysis, fixed assets, and SOX compliance.

responsibilities:

• Cost Accounting & Analysis: Develop costing methodologies, establish standard costs, and analyze manufacturing variances with clear business insights.
• Financial Reporting & Month-End: Design and generate SAP cost reports, analyze monthly expense trends/fluctuations, and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Inventory & Asset Management: Manage fixed asset tracking, oversee capital project expenditures, and reconcile specialty inventory and donor fees/incentives.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with cross-functional department heads to assist with annual capital/operating budgets and monthly rolling forecasts.
• Compliance & Controls: Ensure internal department adherence to company accounting policies and maintain SOX compliance documentation.

 
qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Experience: 5+ years of core accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (Pharmaceutical or Biotech experience highly preferred).
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Tier I ERPs (SAP strongly preferred; Oracle or J.D. Edwards accepted) and expert-level MS Excel skills.
• Certifications: CPA or CMA strongly preferred, but not required.
