Mechanical Estimator

Mechanical EstimatorRichard Construction Inc. (RCI) is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator.Mechanical Estimator experienced in mechanical projects for the following but not limited to: industrial facilities, power plants, refineries, and pipeline construction projects.Job Description:Attend Pre-Bid Meetings and Bid Walks to confirm requisite takeoffs of any Request for Quotations (RFQs)Prepare complete and detailed take-offs utilizing Trimble-Accubid estimating softwareMaintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers obtained through direct contact, previous RFQ's, price lists, software uploads, etc.Support other department personnel as required; may include assisting with estimates in other disciplinesMay review design conditions and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or available materialsInterface with ClientsMay provide support to field operations regarding electrical estimatesPerform additional assignments per supervisor's directionJob Requirements:Minimum of 3 to 10 years experience of construction estimatingFamiliarity with Trimble-Accubid softwareWorking knowledge of mechanical installation, estimating techniques, and cost controlsAbility to interpret computerized costs data and systemsAbility to perform detailed work and successfully meet deadlinesStrong computer skillsMust have a stable work historyPrevious management of supervisory experienceMust follow all company and site rules and regulationsRequired Qualifications:Experience in industrial construction projectsStrong Mechanical background on industrial construction projectsAbility to work with others - Team playerGood communication skillsCommitment to Richard values, safety rules, and regulationsReports to Position:This position will report directly to the Mechanical Estimating ManagerPhysical Requirements:Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and liftingWill use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, and push or pull objects such as materials, controls, and toolsWill be required to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weightWill work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and capable of occasional work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirementsWill be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves, steel toe/safety toe boots, and masks/respiratorsWork Environment:This position primarily is performed from RCI's HWY 90 Construction Office in Beaumont, TX, but may be posted temporarily on project sites, when required.
