Registered Nurse - PACU

RN/PACU Parkview Tower

Shift: Monday-Friday, 3x12s, 1900-0730, 1700-0530, rotating start time as needed. 24 hours of call in 6 week period. Night shift nurses are expected to pre-op patients for first cases from 0530-0730 when there are no patients for them in the PACU. Ratios: 1:2. Years of experience required: 1. First-timers accepted: Yes. Weekends required: None. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, Vents, IV start, Telemetry, Critical Care. Is on-call required? Yes, 24 hours call per 6 week schedule period as needed. Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Within service line. Open to accommodating block schedule? No. Locals accepted: No. Local radius rule: Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility. Pending license accepted: Yes. RTO restrictions: No more than 7 days. Guaranteed hours: 40. The cancelled shifts must be the regular shift length to which the contractor personnel is assigned. Special requirements: Will need to pass Relias EKG exam. Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required. PACU, Critical care experience required, EPIC required.

Patient Diagnoses: Parkview Tower, Level 1 trauma center, surgical patients we recover include: GU, GYN, Colorectal, minimally invasive procedures, Bariatric, some ENT. Separate IR Pre/Post area.

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Our PACU RNs need proficiency in managing complicated postoperative patients including: multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia. We are looking for a nurse with at least one year of critical care experience or from a Level I Trauma Center. Even RNs receiving patients in preop may be managing multiple complex patients.
