Die Repair TechnicianDie Repair Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of high-pressure die casting dies, trim dies, and related tooling.What's in it for you?Medical/Vision/Dental/Rx plansDie Repair Technician Details:Direct Hire position$ 28.00 to $ 38.00 / hourFirst Shift (Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 04:30pm)Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds on HPDC dies, trim dies, and associated toolingDisassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, and reassemble die cast tooling componentsDiagnose tooling failures and determine corrective actions to restore production readinessRepair worn, damaged, or cracked die components using welding, machining, polishing, grinding, and fitting techniquesPerform bench work including spotting, fitting, lapping, and polishing of die surfacesMaintain cooling lines, vent systems, ejector systems, and moving die componentsInterpret engineering drawings, die designs, blueprints, and tooling specificationsConduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring instrumentsAssist in die tryouts and production startups following repairs or modificationsDocument maintenance activities, repair history, and tooling performance dataRecommend tooling improvements to enhance die life, casting quality, and productivityWork with engineering teams on die modifications and continuous improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality requirementsSupport emergency tooling repairs to minimize production downtimeDie Repair Technician Qualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredTechnical training, apprenticeship, or certification in Tool & Die, Machining, or a related field preferredExperience repairing and maintaining HPDC dies and toolingProficiency with hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and tool room equipmentAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and CAD-generated printsKnowledge of die casting processes, die construction, and tooling materialsStrong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team3+ years of experience in high-pressure die casting tooling repairExperience with aluminum die casting operationsTIG welding, laser welding, or tool steel repair experienceKnowledge of CNC machining, EDM, surface grinding, and milling operationsFamiliarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principlesExperience using maintenance management systems (Work Instructions or visual aids)We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and celebrate diversity at all levels of our organization.
