About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Athletics Development Officer (CADO) to spearhead the philanthropic strategy for its Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation. This pivotal role comes at a time of significant change in the landscape of American collegiate athletics, with a focus on the new economic model that includes conference realignment, the House settlement, and direct revenue sharing with student-athletes. The CADO will be instrumental in securing the necessary philanthropic support to ensure the institution's ability to compete at the highest level, both academically and athletically. Responsibilities include designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising program, leading a team of development professionals, and building a robust donor pipeline capable of securing substantial commitments. The ideal candidate for the CADO position at the company will be an entrepreneurial and strategic fundraising leader with a proven track record in a sophisticated university advancement enterprise. They must possess the discipline and donor-centered ethos required for this role, as well as the speed, public perception acumen, and high-stakes relationship management skills that are essential in the realm of big-time intercollegiate athletics. The CADO will work closely with the Director of Athletics, head coaches, senior administrators, and various development teams to ensure the success of the philanthropic program. A strong emphasis is placed on the ability to secure transformational gifts and to partner with key stakeholders, including university trustees and volunteers. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of a defining moment in the history of collegiate athletics, with a focus on extending the institution's scholar-athlete tradition into a new era.
