Overview Automotive Technician job at Sun Auto Service Houston. Missouri City, TX. HIRING NOW: Sun Auto Tire & Service is hiring experienced Automotive Mechanics / Technicians. Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 flag rate. We offer complete quality automotive repair and preventative maintenance. Our ASE certified technicians will work on alignments, brake repair, oil changes, batteries, shocks and struts, belts and hoses, and air conditioning. The Master Technician / Automotive Mechanic ensures repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians and the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction. They are also responsible for diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturer, and Sun Auto Tire & Service standards. Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy. Perform complex and heavy-duty repairs. Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including the Store Manager, Service Consultants, and/or customers. Recommend services necessary to keep the customer's vehicle in running condition and properly document all recommendations in the customer file. Follow all safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager. Maintain appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of automotive technician / mechanic experience. Ability to properly use computerized diagnostic equipment. Valid/current driver's license. Current ASE credentials preferred. At least 18 years old. Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Temperature in the work environment can vary, including extreme heat and/or extreme cold. Physical requirements include: Stand five hours per day and access various areas of the building. Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly up to 10 hours per day; full range of motion with arms and hands. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
