This is a travel position with AYA-UW Health University Hospital. The start date is 08/31/2026 and the end date is 11/30/2026. The shift is from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM, with three shifts per week and a total of 36 scheduled hours. The position requires a Respiratory Therapist with WI RCP license pending license at time of submittal accepted. Two years minimum as staff therapist required. Pediatric and adult experience preferred. COARC accredited School for Respiratory Therapy required. NBRC - RRT required. BLS required - AHA ONLY.

The job description includes a 36 hours/week assignment. Day/Evening, 8 and 12 hour shifts, 07-1530, 07-1930 and 1500-2330, with every other weekend rotations and 2 holidays in the winter months required, on-call (1-12hr call shift every 6-week schedule period). The position requires experience in adult critical care, aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, albuterol, ARDS, aspiration, atrovent, bag and mask, basic EKG, bicarbonate, bipap, bronchoscopy, chest physiotherapy, chest physiotherapy: vest, combivent, COVID, CPAP, CPAP/nasal CPAP/BIPAP, cystic fibrosis, drawing arterial blood gases, emergency department, ET tube, extubation, flovent, fresh tracheostomy, hand held, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), IMV (intermittent mandatory ventilation), inhaled flolan, inhaled steroids, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), intubation assist, medihaler, metered dose inhaler (MDI), mucomyst, nasal airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, nitric oxide (INO), oral airway placement, oral/nasal suctioning, oxygen tanks, pediatrics, pulmicort, pulmonary hygiene, racemic epinephrine, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), spiriva, sputum specimen collection, tobramycin, tracheostomy care/management, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, ultrasonic, weaning from mechanical ventilation, xopenex.

The position requires floating as needed and is located at University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792. Parking is required through UW Transportation if parking onsite. Other transportation options are available: bus, park & ride, private parking, etc.
