Purpose: Deploy Quality in the factory enabling the organization to meet customer requirements and internal Quality related targets Support development and/or deployment of working quality processes in all relevant factory areas Support Product verification & shop floor quality Area of Responsibility Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections Ensure compliance to control plans and ITPs Manage nonconforming product containment Verify inspection records and traceability Act as first escalation point for quality issues on the floor Plan and execute Process audits Develop improvement activities from results of audits Coordinate the qualification of new raw material, new supplier and any trials needed to achieve qualification Competencies and Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of manufacturing quality inspection experience. Experience in cable manufacturing, wire manufacturing, plastics extrusion, electrical products, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred. Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001. Training in Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, or 8D). ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification or equivalent. Familiarity with nonconforming material control and product traceability. Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office and manufacturing or quality management systems (ERP/MES/QMS). Core Competencies Quality Focus Demonstrates commitment to producing defect-free products and maintaining high quality standards. Attention to Detail Consistently identifies defects, discrepancies, and documentation errors. Problem Solving Recognizes quality issues quickly and supports effective containment and corrective actions. Communication Clearly communicates quality concerns with operators, supervisors, engineers, and management. Integrity Makes objective quality decisions and is willing to stop production or place product on hold when requirements are not met. Teamwork Works collaboratively with production, engineering, maintenance, and warehouse personnel. Time Management Prioritizes inspections to support production without compromising quality. Adaptability Responds effectively to changing production schedules, priorities, and customer requirements. Continuous Improvement Participates in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvement initiatives. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift). Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to inspect products and equipment. Climb stairs and work platforms as required within the manufacturing facility. Maintain visual acuity to inspect products for defects, verify measurements, distinguish colors, and read gauges, drawings, and digital displays. Corrective lenses may be used. Occasionally work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts to support production and customer requirements. Work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to manufacturing noise, heat, vibration, dust, and moving mechanical equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) Operate a computer, tablet, or handheld device to enter inspection results and review documentation.
