Responsibilities

The Emergency Services Technician plays a vital role as part of the healthcare team, assisting the Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.), Registered Nurse (R.N.), and Unit Secretary. This position is essential to the team-based approach to patient care and supports the efficient and effective flow of patients through the Emergency Department.

• Provides direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff.
• Maintains responsibility and accountability for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies.
• Maintains an active, working knowledge of the Credentialing Competencies required for Emergency Services Technicians.
• Consistently demonstrates professionalism in both appearance and conduct.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred.

Skills: Basic medical terminology. Computer familiarity. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

Licensure

Oregon: Current American Heart Association approved CPR certification required. CNA, MA or EMT desired.

Washington: Current American Heart Association approved CPR certification required. Registered or Certified Nursing Assistant (RNA/CNA) required for employees who perform this job in the state of Washington (including those who float into the role). Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist required for employees who perform phlebotomy in the State of Washington (including those who float into the role).

Pay Range

USD $22.10 - USD $30.94 /Hr.
