About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1+ year required. Travel experience highly preferred. License: Valid RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be willing to work with a variety of staff (RNs, LPNs, Techs). Description: Local rate applies to candidates within a specific distance from the facility. Offering more than 13 weeks up to 26 weeks. All holiday requests must be discussed with the manager. No holiday time off will be approved. The Observation Unit has a focus on the constant reassessment of patient readiness for discharge. The unit will be rapidly admitting and discharging patients. Floating to other medical surgical units is required depending on need. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Staffing ratios for nights are 1:5 to 1:6. Ratios may flex to 8 patients, but the RN will be paired with an LPN in these instances. The registered nurse will care for a mix of medical patients. The ideal candidate should have great prioritization skills and a strong customer service orientation. Experience with units with high patient turnover is beneficial. Candidates must be able to handle patient surges and increased patient ratios. Additional interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy and respiratory services. Patient populations include adults and geriatrics. The unit supports a variety of patient diagnoses. Candidates will be required to utilize their clinical skills in various medical situations.
