Nurse Aide PositionAs a Nurse Aide for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), you will help create a comfortable and supportive environment for residents at the Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home. As a Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:Resident Support: Assist residents with daily living tasks including bathing, grooming, toileting, transfers, and meals, while helping maintain comfort and dignityCare Monitoring: Observe resident conditions, report changes to nursing staff, answer call bells, and participate in shift reportsSafety Assistance: Apply safety devices, gather vital data, support mobility needs, and ensure resident areas remain hazard freeRoom Maintenance: Maintain tidy resident spaces, change linens, organize supplies, and support admissions or room changesDocumentation: Record all provided care and services to comply with regulatory and facility requirementsTeam Collaboration: Maintain positive working relationships, follow established procedures, and participate in staff training and improvement effortsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating days and holidays. You will be required to work every other weekend.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,171.00 (before taxes).DMVA is pleased to announce the Nursing Referral Program, promoting the hiring and retention of nursing staff at Pennsylvania's veterans homes. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.QualificationsMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; orSix months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
