Exciting Opportunity in Trauma ICU: 12-Hour Night Shifts Awaits You!


Job Description:
- Unit: Trauma ICU
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Interview Type: Manager interview only
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Radius Rule:
- 50 miles
- Candidates must not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit
- Travelers: Not accepting first-time travelers
- Additional Requirements:
- Driver's license required at submission
- Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited
- Pass/Fail exam during orientation (90% required)
- Unit Capacity: 18 beds
- Nurse:Patient Ratios:
- 1:1-2 in ICU
- 1:4 in PCU
- Common Patient Cases:
- Trauma injuries (only level 1 trauma center in the system)
- Sepsis
- Stroke
- ARDS
- MODS
- COPD
- Cardiac arrest
- Required Skills:
- Titration of drips (vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics)
- Monitoring and troubleshooting ventilators and equipment
- Charge Nurse: Yes, takes an assignment
- Support Staff: Patient care techs available (1:18 ratio)
- Telemetry Monitoring: RNs must read and interpret strips (Draeger heart monitoring)
- Shifts & Scheduling:
- 0630-1830, 1830-0630
- Self-scheduling available
- Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating Requirements: May float to inpatient units (excluding Maternity/NICU)
- Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs
- Orientation: 2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation
