Paediatricexperience is desirable; however, applicants with stronggeneral Nuclear Medicine experience will be supported totransition to our paediatric setting. Standard days –hours are between 7:30-5pm, Monday to Friday with participation in the emergency weekend on-call roster (5pmFriday to 7:30am Monday) and public holidays. PositionProfile: Perth Children’s Hospital & Neonatology (PCHN) are seeking experienced Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologists to join our Medical ImagingDepartment and provide and coordinate high-quality servicessupporting diagnosis and management across a range of clinicalindications, including oncology, musculoskeletal, respiratory andgastrointestinal conditions, with a strong focus on physiology and functional imaging. This is an excitingopportunity to join our specialised and expanding service, with planned introduction of a new PET CT. Currentequipment in the Nuclear Medicine department is aSPECT/CT. As a Senior Nuclear MedicineTechnologist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinaryteam and play a key role in patient safety, clinical quality,service coordination and workflow efficiency, and provision ofsupervision and education to Nuclear Medicine staff, students andother clinical staff. You will also haveopportunities to contribute to quality improvement initiatives,research activities, and the development and review of clinicalpolicies and protocols. Key responsibilitiesinclude: Performing routine and complex Nuclear Medicine imaging, including PET/CT and theoperation of imaging and ancillary equipment, image processingand analysis. Preparing, dispensingand performing quality control of radionuclides within theradiopharmaceutical laboratory. Coordinating bookings,imaging workflows and radiopharmaceutical availability to support efficient daily operations. Maintaining andoverseeing quality control of gamma cameras, computing systemsand ancillary equipment, including fault identification andescalation. Liaisingwith the Radiation Protection Officer and ensuring compliancewith recognised international radiation safety standards andsafe handling of sealed and unsealed radioactivesources. Aboutthe Team Based at Perth Children’sHospital, Western Australia’s only acute tertiary paediatriccentre, our dedicated Medical Imaging Team offer a comprehensiverange of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology servicesto children aged 0-16 years, including inpatients, outpatients, andthe Emergency Department. Our team provides a widevariety of imaging within the subspecialties of interventionalradiology, paediatric cardiac catheterisations, general X-ray, CT,MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy. We focus on achieving thehighest quality imaging studies with a compassionate,child-friendly approach. Our department is equipped with highlyspecialised facilities and equipment designed to create a safe andcomfortable environment for infants, children, and theirfamilies. As part of our dedication toexcellence, we benchmark our services through collaboration withother children's hospitals and actively participate in researchinitiatives. We support research projects and contribute to theadvancement of procedures through partnerships with universitiesand paediatric specialist foundations.
